QUETTA, Jun 04 (APP): Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Thursday assured to provide all possible support for a sustainable solution to the problems being faced by print media.
He said that in the objective conditions of the province of Balochistan, print media is playing a key role in forming modern journalistic trends, preserving native languages and promoting patriotism among our youth, along with playing the role of a bridge between the government and the people.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of print media editors led by Chairman Balochistan Print Media Syed Anwar Shah.
The Governor said that however, print media is facing major challenges with the advent of various online platforms and artificial intelligence, There is an urgent need to continuously modernize and upgrade print media to have a strong and informed voice in the modern digital world so that it provides intellectual guidance to the society under scientific thinking and approach.
Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that daily newspapers and especially journals in Balochistan are not just a source of news but they are also the guardians of our national history, language and literature.
He said that when times change, the demands of the times also change and every new system brings with it new values that need to be adopted, journalism is a regular industry and here too thousands of people are employed in it.
He stated that even today, many experienced journalists of our print media are performing their duties with full responsibility and integrity.
As the Governor of Balochistan, I appreciate the valuable services of journalists associated with both print and electronic media and the current government believes in the rights and protection of journalists and the power of freedom of expression.
The delegation apprised Governor Balochistan about the problems they are facing, media policy and their concerns, to which Governor Mandokhel listened carefully and attentively and assured all possible cooperation for their resolution.
