PMYP turns cricket field into stage for Bunyan-ul-Marsoos victory

ISLAMABAD, Jun 04 (APP):The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) on Wednesday marked the first anniversary of the Bunyan-um-Marsoos commemorative cricket match with a high profile sporting and national unity event in Islamabad, bringing together youth, celebrities, athletes, civil society representatives and officials to celebrate patriotism, resilience and national cohesion under the leadership of the Chairman PMYP,Rana Mashhood to reflect Pakistan’s collective strength, dedication to its armed forces, and commitment to youth empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman PMYP said the event is not merely a cricket match between Celebrities XI and PMYP XI, but a symbolic tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, martyrs, veterans and all those who have contributed to national security, peace and development.
Mr Khan said the spirit of Bunyan-ul-Marsoos represents unity and resilience, adding that Pakistan can overcome any challenge when it stands together.
He said sports serve as a powerful tool to unite people from diverse backgrounds and that the event brought together students, youth leaders, public figures, media personalities and citizens under a shared national cause of promoting harmony and positive values.
Highlighting the government’s youth-focused agenda, he said the PMYP continues to work under the vision of the Prime Minister through its “4Es” framework like Education, Employment, Engagement and Environment,aimed at creating opportunities for young people across the country.
He noted that initiatives such as the Digital Youth Hub, Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, Youth Business and Agriculture Loans, Green Youth Movement, skills development programmes and talent hunt initiatives are helping empower young Pakistanis to realise their potential.
Referring to youth sports development, he said collaboration with Lahore Qalandars and the HEC Prime Minister’s Cricket Talent Hunt Programme had engaged more than 300,000 young boys and girls nationwide, proving that talent exists across every region when opportunities are made accessible.
The Chairman said Bunyan-um-Marsoos also represents a cultural and intellectual movement, and that today’s match demonstrates how sports, media, government and civil society can collaborate to promote national pride and youth development.
He urged young people to adopt discipline, teamwork, hard work and perseverance, describing them as essential values for success in both sports and life.
The event was attended by celebrities, athletes, officials and partners from various sectors.
The Chairman extended gratitude to ISPR, Shahid Afridi Foundation, Lahore Qalandars, HEC, PTV Sports, Air Sial, Walee Technologies, CDA, Islamabad Police, OGDCL, and multiple corporate and institutional partners, along with event organisers and PMYP team members, for their contributions in making the event a success.
