ISLAMABAD, Jun 04 (APP):The Department of Libraries Islamabad, has organized the book launch ceremony for “Tareemat Katha,” authored by the renowned writer, journalist, and President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, Dr. Sadia Kamal, at the Islamabad Public Library.
The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, presented by Mr. Ghulam Abbas, Junior Librarian at the Department of Libraries Islamabad. Following the recitation, Ishrat Naseem and Ghulam Abbas shared their impressions and critical reviews, shedding light on the book’s various literary and social dimensions.
Prominent researcher and critic, Dr. Wajid Tabassum, presented a comprehensive review of the book, praising the author’s creative prowess and her significant contributions to Urdu literature.
He noted that “Tareemat Katha” effectively mirrors the social, economic, and cultural challenges faced by women, portraying their emotions, struggles, and experiences with profound sensitivity.

He further emphasized that the book not only invites reflection on women’s rights and status but also has the potential to play a pivotal role in promoting awareness and positive change in society.
Speaking on the occasion, the author, Dr. Sadia Kamal, discussed the background of the book’s creation, its core themes, and her personal literary journey. She described “Tareemat Katha” as essentially a chronicle of the issues women face in society, highlighting their struggles, deprivations, and triumphs.
She expressed her hope that the book would help readers better understand women’s issues and inspire a positive mindset toward resolving them.
In his presidential address concluding the ceremony, the Director General of the Department of Libraries Islamabad, Mr Muhammad Arshad, congratulated Dr. Sadia Kamal on the successful publication of her book and paid tribute to her literary services.

He highlighted the vital role that public libraries play in promoting knowledge and literature, solidifying the culture of reading, and fostering intellectual dialogue. He reiterated his commitment that the Department of Libraries will continue to host such literary and academic activities in the future.
The event witnessed a large turnout, including literary figures, educationists, journalists, librarians, students, and book enthusiasts.
