Students briefed on legislative process during parliament house visit

ISLAMABAD, Jun 04 (APP):A group of 80 students from Air University’s H-11 Campus, accompanied by faculty members, visited Parliament House on Thursday as part of an educational study tour aimed at enhancing their understanding of Pakistan’s parliamentary system.
Upon arrival, the delegation was welcomed by officials of the Senate Secretariat, according to a news release.
During the visit, the students were given a detailed tour of the Senate Museum, where they were briefed on Pakistan’s parliamentary history, democratic evolution, and the constitutional and historical role of the Senate.
The students showed keen interest in the historical documents, photographs, and exhibits displayed at the museum, gaining valuable insight into the country’s democratic journey.
Later, the delegation visited the Senate Hall, where they received a comprehensive briefing on the functioning of the Senate, the various stages of the legislative process, the role of standing committees, and the Upper House’s efforts to address public issues.
The students were informed that the Senate serves as an important constitutional institution, ensuring equal representation of the federating units and playing a vital role in national policymaking and democratic stability.
At the conclusion of the visit, the students expressed hope that such educational tours would help promote democratic values, parliamentary awareness, and a better understanding of national institutions among young people.
