GUJRAT, Jun 04 (APP):A one-day training workshop was organized for investigation officers and police clerks of Gujrat Police to enhance investigation standards and improve conviction rates in narcotics cases.
According to official sources, the workshop was arranged on the special directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat, Akhtar Farooq, with the aim of strengthening investigation procedures, evidence preservation, and prosecution of drug-related cases.
During the training session, participants were briefed on various stages of narcotics cases, including registration of cases, investigation techniques, collection and preservation of evidence, fulfillment of legal requirements, preparation of challans, and court proceedings.
The workshop was attended by DSP Legal Akhtar Mehmood, Deputy District Public Prosecutor Muhammad Asif, Assistant District Public Prosecutor Umar Sultan Cheema, and Assistant District Public Prosecutor Muhammad Hashim as trainers.
The speakers highlighted legal aspects of narcotics cases, standards of evidence, and effective prosecution methods to ensure successful convictions of drug offenders.
DPO Gujrat said that enhancing the professional capabilities of investigation officers and ensuring quality investigations are essential for securing convictions in narcotics cases and contributing to a safer, peaceful, and drug-free society.
