Governor distributes laptops among students of university under PM’s Laptop Scheme

Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Wednesday distributed laptops among students of university under Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme. 

QUETTA, Jun 03 (APP): Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Wednesday distributed laptops among students of university under Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.
Addressing at the laptops distribution of the ceremony, the Governor said that as a result of his forty-year political journey, he has come to understand that education is not a fixed structure but a dynamic, progressive and ever-increasing evolutionary stage.
He said that the change in the education system is conditional on the changing society, we have to make our system and curriculum compatible with the changing demands and human needs.
He said that in addition to traditional academic degrees, the increasing importance and usefulness of modern skills, professional training and diploma courses cannot be ignored today, there is a complementary partnership between degree and skill. Modern skills strengthen academic degrees.
Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that the corona-virus helped to reshape online education in European universities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that their experience reminds us that the provision of online lectures is a basic need. It kept us connected in times of emergency and crisis, we thank the European Union and IBA Sukkur University for helping to install online systems in University of Balochistan and University of Turbat and now this series should be extended to other public sector universities.
The Governor said that it is a matter of pride that we have succeeded in increasing the ranking and scoring of all government universities of the province from 40 percent to 80 percent.
He said that in achieving this goal, we pay tribute to the cooperation of the federal government, provincial government, Higher Education Commission and other private institutions adding that we could benefit from international scholars and researchers from other countries and cities through online capacity.
He said that in this advanced era of science and technology, digital literacy and online learning are important pillars that prepare us for any upcoming challenge.
He noted that in this fast-paced world, we have to adopt modern methods to set new milestones of development because the education system is never frozen in a specific period.
Jaffar Khan said that we would have to update the education policy according to the needs of the time so that fields like social sciences, medicine and technology can flourish along with traditional fields.
He said that the real education system is relevant to real life and accountable to the people. Addressing the participants of the laptop distribution ceremony, Member of National Assembly Nawabzada Jamal Raisani said that artificial intelligence is a force in this advanced era, we have to prove ourselves as producers instead of consumers.
He said that you should inform us about the problems of public sector universities and we would continue to convey them to the relevant authorities on the floor of the National Assembly.
Finally, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel distributed laptops to university students and commemorative shields to administrators. Governor Mandokhel later inaugurated the smart classroom.
