ISLAMABAD, Jun 03 (APP):The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has taken note of a news report titled “Oil Industry Opposes Windfall Tax in Upcoming Budget” published on June 2, 2026, which referred to pending Price Differential Claims (PDCs) and concerns raised by some stakeholders in the oil sector.
OGRA clarified that it is implementing federal government policy decisions and the approved mechanism for the verification and settlement of PDCs, said a news release issued here Wednesday.
The Authority said it is processing claims under a defined framework to ensure transparency, accountability, and financial discipline.
According to OGRA, around 45 per cent of verified Price Differential Claims submitted by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have already been paid.
It added that the remaining claims were being processed once complete documentation was provided and verification requirements were fulfilled by the concerned companies.
The OGRA said it remains committed to the timely settlement of admissible claims and is working with industry stakeholders to complete reconciliation and speed up the verification process.
The Authority further stated that all decisions related to fuel pricing, market stability, and consumer protection were taken in line with applicable laws, government policy and public interest.
It reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply, market stability, transparency and the protection of both consumers and industry stakeholders.
