ABBOTTABAD, Jun 03 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram has said that the district administration is committed to eliminating encroachments, improving traffic flow, and ensuring better public facilities, as he conducted a detailed visit to key city roads to assess ongoing operations.
During his visit to Eid Gah Road, Jinnah Road, and Empire Road, the Deputy Commissioner inspected anti-encroachment measures and traffic management arrangements. He reiterated that public convenience remains the top priority and directed the authorities to ensure smooth movement of traffic and uninterrupted business activity for citizens.
He also visited the designated vending zone near Jinnah Plaza, where around 220 pushcarts have been relocated in an organized manner. Speaking with street vendors, the DC assured them that the administration is focused on providing basic facilities, cleanliness, and proper arrangements so that their livelihood is not affected.
Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Afraisyab Zubair Hindal, TMO Irfan Khan, and TOR Aabid Khan accompanied him during the visit.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed that immediate cleanliness and restoration of roads and footpaths must be ensured after the relocation of carts to facilitate pedestrians, shopkeepers, and commuters. He stressed that the efforts are aimed at improving urban discipline and traffic flow across the city.
Taking notice of the issue of professional beggars, DC Sarmad Saleem Akram directed strict legal action in accordance with the law.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also visited the Women and Children Hospital, where he assessed OPD services, met doctors and medical staff, and inspected patient facilities. He emphasized the need for further improvements in healthcare delivery.
He reaffirmed that the district administration will continue its sustained efforts to remove encroachments, streamline traffic, and improve civic services for the people of Abbottabad.
