Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Divisional Strategic Reserves Management Committee to review the availability,storage and supply situation of wheat and other essential commodities across the division.

SARGODHA, Jun 03 (APP):Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Divisional Strategic Reserves Management Committee to review the availability,storage and supply situation of wheat and other essential commodities across the division.
According to the Commissioner’s office spokesperson,the meeting was attended by relevant departmental officers.
The Deputy Director Food briefed the participants on the current stock position of food grains,demand and supply trends, availability of reserves in government warehouses and preparedness measures for the coming months.
The commissioner directed all departments to ensure close coordination for the uninterrupted supply of essential food items to the public.
He stressed that effective management of strategic reserves was crucial for ensuring food security,particularly during emergencies and called for continuous monitoring and timely updating of stock data.
The meeting also reviewed measures to curb price hikes of essential commodities,prevent hoarding and strengthen the supply chain mechanism.
The commissioner instructed officials to ensure transparency in reserve management and maintain adequate stocks in accordance with government policy to safeguard public interests.
He reiterated that proactive planning and efficient management of reserves would help ensure stable supplies and protect consumers from undue hardship.
