Storm disrupts power supply to hundreds of feeders in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Jun 02 (APP): Severe winds and heavy rainfall disrupted electricity transmission across several parts of Peshawar on Tuesday, causing power outages in areas served by multiple grid stations.
According to the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) spokesperson the intense storm and strong winds affected power transmission from around 12 grid stations, resulting in the tripping of more than 200 feeders across the city.
He said restoration work would begin as soon as weather conditions improve and the intensity of the storm subsides, ensuring the safety of technical staff and electrical infrastructure.
PESCO has placed its operational and emergency response teams on high alert to deal with any weather-related faults and to expedite the restoration of electricity supply.
The power utility appealed to consumers to cooperate during the emergency situation, assuring them that all available resources were being utilized to restore power to affected areas at the earliest possible time.
The storm swept through Peshawar during the evening, bringing strong winds and rain that affected normal life and disrupted utility services in several localities.
