ISLAMABAD, Jun 02 (APP): Assistant Commissioner Pothohar on Tuesday arrested 9 touts during a surprise operation outside the Excise Office, with all suspects shifted to lockup.
Authorities have urged citizens to help identify such individuals so that action can be taken against them and public services can be provided without interference.
According to the spokesman of the ICT administration here, the Assistant Commissioner Pothohar carried out a surprise inspection outside the Excise Office and took action against individuals allegedly involved in unauthorized dealings with visitors and applicants.
During the operation, nine touts were arrested and immediately shifted to the lockup. Officials said the action was part of ongoing efforts to prevent illegal activities around government offices and ensure that citizens can access public services directly through official channels.
According to the administration, such individuals often approach visitors and offer unofficial assistance in return for money. Authorities said these practices can create problems for citizens and affect the smooth delivery of services.
The Assistant Commissioner directed the concerned staff to continue monitoring the area around the Excise Office and maintain a strict check on unauthorized activities. Officials also warned that similar operations would continue in the future and that anyone found involved in such practices would face legal action.
The district administration appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities by reporting the presence of touts and other individuals engaged in unlawful activities near government offices. Citizens have been requested to identify such elements and share information with the administration so that prompt action can be ensured.
