The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau rescued 15 children during an anti-beggary drive conducted in different parts of the district on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi.

GUJRAT, Jun 02 (APP): The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau rescued 15 children during an anti-beggary drive conducted in different parts of the district on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi.
According to official sources, a joint team comprising officials of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Gujranwala, Labour Department, Rescue 1122, Police and Social Welfare Department carried out the operation on GT Road and Gulzar Madina Road.
During the drive, 13 boys and 2 girls were rescued and taken into protective custody. The children were shifted to Gujranwala for further legal and welfare proceedings.
The district administration said efforts would continue to protect children from exploitation and curb professional begging through coordinated enforcement and rehabilitation measures.
