PR Multan Division sets record Rs 31.5m passenger revenue in a day

Pakistan Railways Multan Division achieved a historic milestone by generating revenue of more than Rs 31.5 million in passenger tickets on June 1, 2026, marking the highest single-day passenger earnings in the division’s history.

MULTAN, Jun 02 (APP): Pakistan Railways Multan Division achieved a historic milestone by generating revenue of more than Rs 31.5 million in passenger tickets on June 1, 2026, marking the highest single-day passenger earnings in the division’s history.
The record was achieved under the vision of Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and the supervision of Divisional Superintendent Multan Muhammad Khalid Khan, amid a significant increase in travel demand ahead of Eidul Adha.
According to railway officials, the unprecedented revenue was driven by a combination of factors, including a surge in passenger traffic, effective administrative planning, strict ticket-checking measures and a growing public tendency to travel with valid tickets.
To accommodate the increased number of passengers during the Eid holidays, additional coaches were attached to Musa Pak Express, enabling the railway administration to provide improved travel facilities and meet rising demand.
Special arrangements were also made at railway stations, including enhanced ticket-checking operations, gate control mechanisms and passenger guidance services. Officials said these measures helped discourage ticketless travel and contributed significantly to the increase in revenue.
The divisional administration attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of divisional commercial officers, ticket-checking staff, booking clerks, station personnel and other concerned departments. Railway authorities also acknowledged the role of responsible passengers who preferred purchasing valid tickets before travelling.
Officials described the record revenue as a positive indicator of growing public confidence in Pakistan Railways and increasing awareness regarding compliance with travel regulations.
They reiterated that Pakistan Railways Multan Division would continue its efforts to provide safe, comfortable and quality travel facilities to passengers while further improving operational efficiency and customer services across the region.
