TANK, Jun 02 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Tank Jamshed Khan has expressed serious concern over delays in ongoing development schemes across the district and directed relevant departments to ensure their completion within the stipulated timeframe.
He was chairing a meeting to assess the progress of ongoing development projects and public welfare schemes in the district.
According to the administration, the meeting was attended by senior local government officials including Haleem Khan, XEN Communication and Works (C&W) Muqarrab Khan and other concerned officials.
The meeting reviewed the status of various development schemes, pace of work and challenges hindering their timely completion.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow progress of several projects, the deputy commissioner said it was alarming that a number of schemes launched during the fiscal year 2024-25 remained incomplete even as the fiscal year 2025-26 was nearing its end. He noted that such delays were affecting public welfare and depriving citizens of the benefits of essential development initiatives.
Jamshed Khan directed all departments to accelerate work on ongoing projects and ensure their completion within the prescribed deadlines.
He said that no compromise would be made on the quality of work and instructed officials to maintain strict oversight of all development activities.
The deputy commissioner further ordered the issuance of show-cause notices to contractors responsible for unnecessary delays, negligence or lack of interest in project execution.
He warned that strict action would be taken against those found violating contractual obligations in accordance with relevant rules and regulations.
He also directed departments to submit updated progress reports on all schemes and develop clear timelines for the completion of pending projects.
“Delays in projects meant for public benefit will not be tolerated,” the deputy commissioner said, adding that timely completion of development schemes was essential for providing direct relief and improved services to the people of Tank district.
