MULTAN, Jun 01 (APP): The 90-kilomrter long Multan-Vehari road project is scheduled to complete by June 30 and Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan wants officials to remain adhered to the timeline.
Commissioner Khan conducted a detailed inspection of the under-construction Multan–Vehari road project worth billions, and reviewed the pace and quality of ongoing development work at various points on Monday.
It’s an important project, officials said, adding that the 90-kilometre-long highway passes through the districts of Multan, Vehari and Khanewal and would play a vital role in improving transportation facilities, boosting trade activities and strengthening connectivity across South Punjab.
The Commissioner was informed that, around 80 percent work has been completed and June 30 has been set as the completion date.
Khan expressed satisfaction over the pace of progress and directed officials to ensure the remaining work is completed within the deadline. He also inspected nine-kilometre stretch from Metla Chowk to Tibba Sultan Pur. He made it clear that unnecessary delays would not be tolerated and directed contractors and relevant departments to maintain the pace of work. He also stressed the importance of ensuring high construction standards including tough tiles pavement along the roadside.
Amir Kareem Khan asked officials to pay special attention to the design, durability, strength and aesthetic appeal of tiles being installed over drainage channels. He urged all relevant departments to work in close coordination to ensure the project’s timely completion while maintaining transparency and quality standards.
He reiterated that delivering the benefits of public welfare projects to citizens at the earliest remains a top priority of the government.
