RAWALPINDI, Jun 01 (APP): Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Murree responded to 3,395 emergency calls during May 2026, providing rescue and medical assistance to 3,399 citizens, according to the department’s monthly performance report.
The report stated that Rescue 1122 personnel demonstrated professional expertise and swift response capabilities, helping save numerous lives across the district.
Among the affected individuals, 1,630 were provided first aid at the scene, while 1,481 patients were shifted to various public and private hospitals in Murree after receiving initial medical treatment.
A total of 29 people were reported dead in different emergencies, while 11 deceased individuals were shifted from hospitals to their hometowns under the Punjab Dead Body Transfer Service.
According to the statistics, Medical emergencies were the most frequently incidents with 2,428 cases reported during the month. Rescue teams also responded to 158 road traffic accidents, 290 rescue operations of various kinds, 15 fire incidents, one drowning case, 10 cases of physical altercations, and 222 incidents involving falls from height.
Rescue officials noted that Murree, being a major tourist destination, receives a large influx of domestic and foreign visitors throughout the year. Consequently, emergency services remain on high alert to ensure prompt assistance in any unforeseen situation.
Timely responses to traffic accidents, medical emergencies, and fall-related incidents played a significant role in saving valuable lives during the reporting period.
Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 Murree’s Patient Transfer Service also performed a vital role by shifting 259 critically ill patients from hospitals across Murree district and Kotli Sattian tehsil to specialized healthcare facilities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad for advanced medical treatment.
Rescue 1122 officials urged the public to follow traffic regulations, observe safety precautions at tourist sites, and immediately contact the emergency helpline 1122 in the event of any emergency to ensure timely rescue and medical assistance.
