Dera Ismail Khan , May 29 (APP):Special cleanliness operations remained continued across 13 union councils of Dera Ismail Khan (DIK) city areas during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Dera and Chief Executive Officer of Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Hikmat Ullah Khan.
According to details, WSSC teams remained active round the clock to ensure timely collection and disposal of sacrificial animal waste and maintain sanitation arrangements in different parts of the city.
The operation was supervised by Manager Operations Javed Khan, while sanitation staff performed duties in day and night shifts to keep various localities clean during Eid days.
Member National Assembly (MNA) Faisal Amin Gandapur appreciated the efforts of WSSC staff and said the sanitation teams worked efficiently to facilitate citizens during Eid-ul-Azha.
Tehsil Mayor Umar Amin Gandapur said that maintaining cleanliness during Eid was a collective responsibility and acknowledged the dedication of WSSC workers for ensuring a hygienic environment across the city.
Chairman WSSC Naimat Ullah Khan said the company utilized all available resources to provide the best sanitation services to citizens during Eid-ul-Azha. He added that WSSC teams remained fully mobilized throughout the three days to promptly remove animal waste and maintain cleanliness in all union councils.
Chairman District Peace Committee and former provincial minister Abdul Halim Khan Qasuria, paid tribute to WSSC Dera personnel for continuing public service during Eid holidays. He said frontline sanitation workers deserved appreciation for their dedication and commitment towards maintaining cleanliness during the festive occasion.
Citizens from different localities expressed satisfaction over the sanitation arrangements and termed the performance of WSSC and its teams commendable.
Social activist Tehwar Abbas Bukhari Advocate said cleanliness arrangements in Chah Syed Munawar Shah and UC Dewala remained satisfactory during Eid, adding that the staff performed their duties efficiently and removed sacrificial waste on time. He particularly appreciated WSSC Supervisor Mubarak Ali and his team for maintaining cleanliness throughout the three Eid days.
Former Youth Councillor, Sadat Ullah Chughtai expressed satisfaction over sanitation conditions in Madni Town and Saeed Abad and said WSSC staff remained fully active during Eid-ul-Azha.
Former Chairman Ward No.2, Hafiz Bhatti appreciated cleanliness activities in Basti Ustrana North, Ustrana South and adjoining areas and said WSSC teams rendered excellent services during Eid days.
Social worker Malik Ahsan termed sanitation activities during Eid encouraging and said the staff worked hard to provide a clean environment to citizens.
Residents also appreciated the dedication of sanitation workers and said timely disposal of sacrificial waste provided relief to the public and helped maintain satisfactory cleanliness conditions in various areas of the city.
The citizens expressed hope that WSSC would continue sanitation and cleanliness initiatives with the same spirit and responsibility in future to ensure a clean and healthy environment in the city.
