Peshawar imposes section 144, bans collecting hides and donations

PESHAWAR, May 21 (APP): The district administration in Peshawar has imposed Section 144 during Eid-ul-Azha to maintain law and order across the city.
Under the official notification on Thursday the collection of sacrificial animal hides, donations and charity funds has been banned during the three days of Eid.
The notification was issued by Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan. The administration stated that no banned organization, unauthorized institution or illegal group will be allowed to collect animal hides, donations or financial contributions.
The district administration also prohibited setting up of camps without prior permission. Displaying banners, posters and pamphlets has been restricted, while the use of loudspeakers has been completely banned during the Eid holidays.
Officials warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The administration appealed to citizens to donate sacrificial hides and charity only to authorized and registered organizations and to cooperate with authorities in maintaining peace and security during Eid-ul-Azha.
