Shipping Activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, May 21 (APP):Seven ships namely, Hansa Europe, APL Le Havre, Ming Lian, Asahi Queen, Chemroad Sakura, Sinar Toraja, and V Star scheduled to load/offload Containers, Iron ore, Soyabean seeds, Palm oil, LPG and Coal berthed at Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal, Grain Terminal, Liquid Terminal, Engro Terminal and Bulk Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

Meanwhile four more ships, Seaspan Osaka, MSC Roberta, Aisha Sarwar-1 and Atlantic Sakura carrying Containers, Coal and Canola seeds also arrived at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

 Eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them a container vessel APL Le Havre left the port on Thursday morning while four more ships, Hansa Europe, Asahi Queen, SSI Interceptor and Seaspan Osak are expected to sail on today afternoon.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 196,623 tonnes, comprising 120,469 tonnes imports cargo and 76,154 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 6,323 containers (3.277 TEUs imports and 3,046 TEUs exports), were handled at the Port.

Twenty ships at outer anchorage of the port, out of them four ships, Seaspan Osaka, MSC Roberta, Ocean Hope and Galaxy Gas carrying Containers, Coal and LPG are expected to take berths at QICT, PQEPT and EVTL respectively on Thursday, while another container vessel  MSC Positano is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and MSC Sabrina III & MSC Shrinika V are due to arrive on Friday, M.V Jahan Moni and Zhong Gu Ri Zhao scheduled to load/offload Containers and 32000 tonnes of Cement are due to arrive at the port on Saturday.
