KOHAT, May 20 (APP): Police in Kohat have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of their cousin in the jurisdiction of Ustarzai police station, officials said on Wednesday.
According to police, the body of Parwaiz Ali, a resident of Ustarzai Payan, was recovered on May 16 from the Algada area. Investigators said the victim had allegedly been murdered during the night of May 15, after which the body was dumped at a deserted location in an apparent attempt to hide the crime.
District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi took notice of the incident and formed a special investigation team headed by DSP Headquarters Imaduddin and SHO Ustarzai Adnan Khan. Police said the team used forensic evidence and modern investigative methods to trace and arrest the victim’s maternal cousins, identified as Babar Ali and Haider Ali, who were allegedly involved in the killing. Further investigation into the case is underway.
In a separate development, Jangal Khel police recovered a mentally challenged woman who had gone missing and safely reunited her with her family. Acting on the directions of DPO Shahbaz Elahi, SHO Javed Khan and his team launched a search operation that led to her recovery. The family thanked the police for their prompt response and humanitarian assistance, praising the force’s efforts toward community welfare.
