PSX stays bullish, gains over 1,934 points

ISLAMABAD, May 20 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with a bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 1,934.74 points, a positive change of 1.19 percent, closing at 164,831.42 points against 162,896.68 points on the last trading day, according to PSX data.
During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 386.394 million shares with a traded value of Rs 20.125 billion, compared to 391.935 million shares valuing Rs 22.975 billion in the previous session. The market capitalization increased to Rs 18.243 trillion from Rs 18.081 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 483 active companies in the ready market, 302 advanced, 141 declined, and 40 remained unchanged.
Sui South Gas topped the volume chart with 25.264 million shares, followed by Bank of Punjab with 24.570 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 22.784 million shares.
 The top gainers included Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited, which increased by Rs 185.00 to close at Rs 26,100.00, and Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited, which gained Rs 174.29 to settle at Rs 1,917.20.
On the losing side, Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited declined by Rs 52.37 to close at Rs 1,307.63, while Nestle Pakistan Limited fell by Rs 45.48 to close at Rs 7,554.52.
In the futures market, turnover stood at 312.777 million shares with a traded value of Rs 11.311 billion, compared to 212.870 million shares worth Rs 14.016 billion in the previous session.
Out of 318 futures-market companies, 251 recorded gains while 65 declined and 2 remained unchanged, according to PSX data.
