Pak-China scholars expand research, academic partnership in Beijing

Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), visited the Institute for Community with Shared Future (ICSF) at the Communication University of China on Monday, where both sides discussed expanding research cooperation, joint academic initiatives and institutional partnerships to promote regional connectivity, intercultural dialogue and sustainable development.

ISLAMABAD, May 18 (APP): Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), visited the Institute for Community with Shared Future (ICSF) at the Communication University of China on Monday, where both sides discussed expanding research cooperation, joint academic initiatives and institutional partnerships to promote regional connectivity, intercultural dialogue and sustainable development.
Mr Akram was received by Prof Li Huailiang, dean of ICSF, alongside the institute’s management team at the university’s Beijing campus.
The meeting was also attended by Prof Zhang Yanqiu, deputy dean of ICSF, Dr Ge Yanling, section chief of the institute’s office, and Ms Sun Yuhong, section chief of the Confucius Institute Management Office.
During the discussions, Prof Li praised Mr Akram’s efforts in promoting the concept of a “community with a shared future” envisioned by Xi Jinping and acknowledged his contributions towards strengthening international academic support for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
He also appreciated PRCCSF’s role in promoting regional connectivity, economic integration and cultural cooperation through academic engagement and policy dialogue.
Mr Akram commended ICSF and the Communication University of China for advancing academic cooperation, collaborative research and intellectual exchanges among scholars and institutions from different countries.
He stressed the need to strengthen partnerships based on mutual understanding and shared progress to support sustainable development and regional harmony.
Both sides explored opportunities for joint seminars, workshops, conferences and academic exchange programmes aimed at enhancing cross cultural understanding and collaborative research initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen institutional cooperation and continue collaborative efforts promoting peace, sustainable development and the vision of a community with a shared future.
