ISLAMABAD, May 17 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police highlighted the role of modern telecommunication systems in ensuring public safety, uninterrupted coordination and rapid emergency response on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
An official told APP on Sunday that Islamabad Police was actively utilizing advanced communication technologies to strengthen security monitoring, maintain coordination among units and ensure timely response during emergencies across the federal capital.
He said the police helpline system, Safe City surveillance cameras, modern wireless communication network and FM-92.4 radio service were playing a key role in maintaining law and order and facilitating citizens.
The official said Safe City Islamabad’s “electronic eyes” were continuously monitoring important locations, roads and sensitive areas to help police respond swiftly to suspicious activities and emergencies.
He said Islamabad Police was also using modern patrol vehicles, digital communication systems and integrated monitoring mechanisms to improve policing and ensure protection of citizens.
According to the official, FM-92.4 was helping spread awareness regarding traffic updates, security advisories and public safety messages among citizens round the clock.
He said modern telecommunication systems had significantly improved coordination between police formations, emergency units and field officers, enabling prompt and effective action.
