ICT admin denies change in business hours, terms circulating notification fake

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): The district administration of Islamabad on Saturday rejected a notification circulating on social media and confirmed that existing timings under the government’s austerity campaign will remain in place.
It said no official notification has been issued regarding any change in business operating hours in the federal capital.
A spokesperson for the district administration said the notification being circulated about changes in business hours is fake and has not been issued by any official authority.
The clarification came after a notification regarding revised timings began circulating, creating confusion among traders and business owners in different parts of the federal capital.
The district administration said no official instructions have been issued to change the current business schedule. It added that all commercial activities will continue according to the timings already notified under the existing policy.
Officials said if any decision is made to revise business hours in the future, the district administration will issue a formal notification through official channels.
The spokesperson urged business owners and the public not to rely on unverified notifications and to confirm such information through official sources before taking any action.
The administration said the current business timings introduced under the government’s austerity campaign remain effective until further notice.
It also warned against spreading fake notifications, saying such actions create confusion and disturb normal business activity in the city.
The district administration assured that any change in business hours, if approved, would be communicated through a proper official notification for public awareness and implementation.
