PESHAWAR, May 16 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Department has suspended one District Food Controller and two Assistant Controllers for 120 days after irregularities were discovered in wheat stocks.
According to a notification issued on Saturday, Food Department has also formed an investigation committee to probe the irregularities.
The action was taken following reports of missing wheat from government godowns, irregularities in wheat issuance, and failure to maintain stock records on time.
Officials stated that investigations on previous wheat scandal has entered its final stage and that more officers and officials are likely to face suspension after inquiry is completed.
