DC reviews anti-polio drive preparations starting May 18

QUETTA, May 14 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Quetta Mehrullah Badini on Thursday chaired a meeting regarding the preparations for the anti-polio campaign starting from May 18.
The meeting was attended by District Education Officer, District Health Officer, Deputy DHO, Aga Khan Team members, DEOC and EOC members.
During the meeting, the deputy commissioner inaugurated the regular campaign by administering polio drops to children.
It was informed in the briefing that a target of administering polio drops to 427,612 children during the ongoing campaign in Quetta district has been set, while 1420 security personnel will be deployed for foolproof security arrangements during the campaign.
The DC directed that a special strategy has been formulated to ensure 100 percent coverage of the remaining children, while fixed sites would be established in schools so that maximum children could be reached.
He said that a strict monitoring plan has been prepared for the success of the campaign and all the concerned institutions would work in a coordinated manner.
He further directed that awareness should be created among the parents by increasing contacts with scholars, elders, tribal elders and other influential people so that every child would be given polio drops.
The deputy commissioner clarified that the district administration teams would provide all possible immediate support to the polio teams present in the field so that the campaign is successful.
