Fine against 3835 persons for traffic violations imposed

The traffic police on Wednesday imposed fine on 3,835 people for using unregistered motorcycles, flash lights, tinted windows, and fancy number plates.

PESHAWAR, May 13 (APP): The traffic police on Wednesday imposed fine on 3,835 people for using unregistered motorcycles, flash lights, tinted windows, and fancy number plates.
“The law applies equally to everyone without exception and citizens should cooperate with traffic police,” said Chief Traffic Officer Dr Zahidullah in a statement here.
Police continued crackdown against unregistered motorcycles, flash lights, tinted windows, and fancy number plates, during which fines were imposed on 3,840 individuals.
On the instructions of Chief Traffic Officer Dr Zahidullah, City Traffic Police Peshawar set up checkpoints in different sectors of the city. Action is being taken against those driving unregistered vehicles and using tinted windows and fancy number plates.
Under the campaign 1,898 cases were registered for the use of tinted windows, 220 for the use of flash lights, 1,401 for driving unregistered vehicles, and 321 for using fancy number plates.
Traffic police also removed flash lights, tinted windows, and fancy number plates from vehicles and imposed fines on violators. Dr Zahidullah stated that the traffic police would use all available resources to ensure enforcement of traffic laws and that strict legal action would be taken against violators.
He further said that the use of tinted windows, unregistered vehicles, and fancy number plates is strictly prohibited, and police remain alert against such violations. No leniency will be shown because the law is equal for everyone without exception.
He also urged citizens to cooperate with traffic police and follow traffic laws to demonstrate that they are patriotic Pakistanis.
