Mega National Idea Fest- 2026 concludes with showcasing students’ innovation works

The third All Pakistan Inter-University Idea Fest 2026 was successfully held at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU), bringing together student teams from across the country in a showcase of innovation, entrepreneurship and problem-solving skills.

RAWALPINDI, May 13 (APP): The third All Pakistan Inter-University Idea Fest 2026 was successfully held at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU), bringing together student teams from across the country in a showcase of innovation, entrepreneurship and problem-solving skills.
The national-level event was aimed to promote entrepreneurial thinking, leadership qualities and practical solutions to contemporary challenges among youth.
According to the details, 122 teams from 19 universities participated in the competition, presenting projects spanning business, technology, social sciences and creative disciplines. Participants impressed judges and audiences with innovative ideas addressing real-world problems through practical and research-based approaches.
Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr. Bushra Mirza, (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), said the Idea Fest -2026 was not merely a competition but a platform designed to prepare young minds for future challenges through creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial insight. She said new thinking and practical solutions were key drivers of development, adding that such platforms enabled students to present ideas, engage with experts and learn from peers across institutions.
She emphasized that the event was not limited to winning or losing, but focused on exposure to ideas, experiences and opportunities that strengthen intellectual and leadership capabilities.
In the Information Technology category, Ayesha Parveen and her team from Rawalpindi Women University, secured first position, while Rabia Noor’s team from National University of Science and Technology secured second place. In Botany and Chemistry, Rania Bibi from Kohsar University stood first, while Laiba Masood from Rawalpindi Women University secured second position.
In Sociology and Psychology, Fiza Gul’s team secured got first position, while Hina Iqbal’s team, both from Rawalpindi Women University, secured second position. In Business Administration, Malia Khan from FAST University secured first position, while Zulqarnain from Riphah International University came second. In Physics and Computer Science, Air University secured first position, while Alishba Hamid from Rawalpindi Women University took second place.
Participants included students from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila, COMSATS University Islamabad, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Foundation University, Riphah International University, International Islamic University, HITEC University, University of Wah, FAST NUCES and other institutions from across Pakistan.
Projects were evaluated by a panel of 10 experts from academia, industry and the corporate sector on criteria including innovation, usefulness, market potential, sustainability and social impact.
At the closing ceremony, Prof Dr Rooh-ul-Amin, Head of English Department, appreciated the students’ creativity and entrepreneurial mindset, terming the initiative a valuable platform for youth development. He also praised Rawalpindi Women University for providing such opportunities.
Prof Dr Shehzad Hussain, Head of Business Administration, and Director Student Affairs Khadija Saeed distributed shields among judges and focal persons, while awards and certificates were also presented to outstanding teams.
