Secretary Local Government orders transparent completion of projects, urges strict monitoring by officers

QUETTA, May 12 (APP): Secretary Local Government and Rural Development, Abdul Rauf Baloch emphasized that all available resources would be utilized to complete development projects transparently, urged officers to remain present in the field, ensure strict monitoring of schemes, and maintain uncompromising standards of quality in all public-interest projects.
 A departmental sub-committee meeting on development was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Local Government and Rural Development, Abdul Rauf Baloch, to review ongoing projects, schemes under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2026-27, and the performance of municipal institutions across the province.
The meeting was attended by Director General Local Government Ayub Qureshi, Director Technical Muhammad Latif Khitran, Chief of Section Abdul Majeed Langau, Executive Engineer Faqir Muhammad, Section Officer Atta Muhammad, and other senior officials.
Participants received detailed briefings on the progress of current development schemes.
Addressing the meeting, Abdul Rauf Baloch emphasized that the Balochistan government prioritizes the provision of basic facilities to citizens, the activation of municipal institutions, and the timely completion of development projects. He directed officials to accelerate work on all PSDP 2025-26 schemes on an urgent basis to ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe.
He stressed that transparency, quality, and speed must be guaranteed in all projects, warning that negligence or delays would not be tolerated. The secretary further highlighted the need to make municipal institutions more effective, efficient, and people-friendly, so that services such as sanitation, drainage, roads, street lighting, and other essential facilities could be improved across the province.
The meeting also discussed challenges faced in ongoing schemes and explored immediate solutions. Officials were instructed to further accelerate the pace of work to deliver results that meet the expectations of the people of Balochistan.
