B-TEVTA board meeting approves institutional reforms to improve performance

QUETTA, May 12 (APP): The 10th meeting of the Balochistan Technical Educational and Vocational Training Authority (B-TEVTA) Board approved a series of institutional reforms aimed at strengthening financial discipline, improving performance, and modernizing institutions.
The Board meeting was held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The session was attended by Advisor on Labour and Manpower Sardar Ghulam Rasool Umrani, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the members agreed that extraordinary measures would be taken to make the authority more effective and aligned with the demands of the modern era. The participants emphasized upon the introduction of technology-driven, market-based training programs to empower youth and ensure their skills meet international standards.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, addressing the gathering, highlighted the urgency of equipping young people with globally recognized expertise. He said, “Providing international-standard expertise to our youth and aligning them with global market needs is the need of the hour.” He further noted that rising non-development expenditures made it impossible to provide government jobs to every individual, underscoring the importance of technical education and vocational training as a sustainable solution.
The meeting also reviewed the ongoing Overseas Youth Employment Program. The Chief Minister expressed concerns over issues faced by some young people sent abroad and directed strict action against firms showing negligence or violating agreements. He ordered immediate measures to resolve complaints and instructed that employment opportunities for skilled youth be expanded both nationally and internationally.
The session concluded with a commitment to accelerate efforts for empowering Balochistan’s youth. By introducing innovative training programs and strengthening institutional frameworks, the provincial government aimed to ensure that young people could secure a brighter future, contribute to the economy, and align themselves with global market needs.
