KOHAT, May 12 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to review emergency measures against the Dengue Virus, directing all relevant departments to accelerate prevention and awareness campaigns across the district.
Officials from the district administration, health, education and municipal departments attended the meeting, where authorities briefed the participants on availability of medicines, spraying equipment and ongoing field operations aimed at containing the spread of Dengue.
The meeting was informed that anti-dengue activities were underway in multiple areas while public awareness efforts would be expanded to educate residents about preventive measures.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to display awareness banners in mosques, union councils and government offices, ensure the cleaning of water tanks and educate schoolchildren about dengue prevention during morning assemblies.
Assistant commissioners were also directed to launch special awareness campaigns in their respective areas and ensure coordinated action among all departments to curb the spread of virus effectively.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed the citizens to cooperate with the health teams to help eliminate Dengue through collective efforts.
