ELMS, PNCA hold poster exhibition on ‘Drug Abuse Awareness’
ISLAMABAD, May 12 (APP):A poster exhibition highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse was organized by ELMS in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts at the National Art Gallery, where students from schools across the country showcased their creative work aimed at promoting awareness among youth.
The 1st ELMS Poster Exhibition featured 79 selected posters on the theme “Effects of Drug Abuse,” received from around 240 schools collaborating with ELMS.
The exhibition was inaugurated by former Federal Minister Jamal Shah along with Samman Islam.
The ceremony began with opening remarks by ELMS Coordinator Syed Nusrat Hussain, who highlighted ELMS initiatives and emphasized the role of students in awareness-based creative activities.
Director General PNCA Muhammad Ayoub Jamali appreciated ELMS for encouraging art and social awareness among students, stressing the importance of such initiatives for youth development.
Speaking on the occasion, Samman Islam underlined the need to raise awareness about drug abuse among students and called for more educational and creative initiatives for young people.
Addressing the ceremony, Jamal Shah praised the creativity of participating students and said every artwork carried its own unique message, making the selection of winners a difficult task.
He encouraged young artists to continue expressing themselves through art with confidence.
The poster competition was judged by Ms. Nosheen Nusrat, Dr. Farwa Haider and Ms. Mariam Ahmed.
Certificates were distributed among winning students, while shields were presented to judges and distinguished guests in recognition of their contributions.
In his closing remarks, CEO ELMS Syed Imtiaz Ali Rizvi thanked Director General PNCA Muhammad Ayoub Jamali and Director Visual Arts Division Mariam Ahmed for their support and collaboration in organizing the exhibition successfully.
The event concluded with appreciation for organizers, participants and partner institutions, reaffirming the importance of creative initiatives in promoting youth awareness and positive social values.
