Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Tuesday presided over the 7th convocation of Government College Women University Sialkot where 3,635 female students were awarded degrees, while 98 outstanding graduates received gold and silver medals.

SIALKOT, May 12 (APP):Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Tuesday presided over the 7th convocation of Government College Women University Sialkot where 3,635 female students were awarded degrees, while 98 outstanding graduates received gold and silver medals.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor Saleem Haider Khan said that the role of Fatima Jinnah in the Pakistan Movement is unforgettable, adding that Benazir Bhutto’s struggle against dictatorship raised
the pride of women.
He said that after acquiring education, it is now time for students to apply their abilities in practical life,
and that education is incomplete without high moral character.
Governor Saleem Haider Khan said that the number of female students at Women University Sialkot is impressive, and that the role of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shazia Bashir in this achievement is commendable. He added that the increasing inclination of women toward education is encouraging, and the graduation of nearly four thousand students is a matter of pride.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shazia Bashir, in her address, stated that the university is currently offering 59 degree programs under four faculties, while 10 departments have become operational at the new Imam Bibi Campus. She added that the university has signed more than 110 agreements with industries, government institutions, and educational organizations, while 700 research papers were published during the year 2024–25.
The Governor distributed medals and degrees among the students.
