KP Govt plans strict security, facilitation measures ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

Acting on the directives of Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday announced to keep all departments on high alert ahead of Eid-ul-Adha and ordered strict security arrangements across the province.

PESHAWAR, May 12 (APP):Acting on the directives of Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday announced to keep all departments on high alert ahead of Eid-ul-Adha and ordered strict security arrangements across the province.
All relevant institutions have been directed to ensure comprehensive security, cleanliness, healthcare and traffic management during the Eid holidays.
Special directives have been issued to divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, police, Rescue 1122, local government bodies, the health department, livestock department, tourism authorities and agencies concerned to remain fully prepared before and during Eid.
The provincial government has ordered enhanced security measures at Eidgah grounds, mosques, imambargahs, markets and cattle markets. Authorities have also been instructed to implement crowd-control plans to maintain public safety during the festive period.
Only officially approved cattle markets would be allowed to operate, while action would be taken against illegal livestock markets. Major cattle markets have been directed to provide essential facilities, including parking areas, clean drinking water, shaded spaces, lighting and complaint-resolution services for citizens.
The Livestock Department would oversee the inspection and vaccination of sacrificial animals and ensure preventive measures against the spread of diseases. Public awareness campaigns regarding precautionary measures would also be conducted.
In addition, the government has ordered strict monitoring of transport fares and directed authorities to take firm action against profiteering, hoarding and underweight selling practices during Eid-ul-Adha.
