IG NHMP awards rank badges to promoted officers
ISLAMABAD, May 12 (APP):Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry on Tuesday awarded rank badges to newly promoted officers during a dignified ceremony held at the Central Police Office in Islamabad.
The ceremony was organized following the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee and was attended by Inspector General NHMP Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry as the chief guest, along with Deputy Inspectors General, SSPs, senior officers, and NHMP personnel, said a press release.
During the ceremony, IG Motorway Police Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry awarded rank badges to 52 promoted officers out of a total of 447 Assistant Patrol Officers, including 33 women officers, and congratulated them on their promotion. Likewise, Additional IsG and DIsG at regional and Zonal headquarters will confer rank badges upon the remaining promoted Assistant Patrol Officers in their respective jurisdictions.
Addressing the ceremony, IG NHMP Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry stated that the promotions are recognition of the officers’ hard work, dedication, and outstanding professional performance. He expressed confidence that the promoted officers would continue to perform their duties with honesty, professional competence, and a strong spirit of public service, further enhancing the reputation of the organization through their conduct and commitment.
The IG NHMP remarked that promotion in service is an important milestone that brings greater responsibilities and increases the expectations associated with public service. He expressed hope that the promoted officers, through effective strategies and dedicated efforts, would further improve traffic discipline and the quality of public facilitation on highways and motorways.
Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry further emphasized that training plays a fundamental role in the success of any organization; therefore, the National Highways & Motorway Police accords top priority to providing modern and quality training to its officers. He added that the good reputation of the Motorway Police is the result of courteous behavior, impartial enforcement of law, and timely assistance to the public.
Strengthening the trust reposed by the public in the Motorway Police, he said, is a collective responsibility of all officers. The Inspector General informed that the promoted officers belong to all four provinces of Pakistan, including Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
