FJWU-Balochistan Government ink MoU for Female Teachers Scholarship Programme

RAWALPINDI, May 12 (APP):Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School Education Department for the implementation of the Female Teacher Education Scholarship Programme under the GRADES-B Project, marking an important step towards women’s empowerment and educational development in Balochistan.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (TI), Vice Chancellor FJWU and Lal Jan Jaffar Secretary, School Education Department, Balochistan during a ceremony held at FJWU on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, FJWU will provide admissions, academic mentoring, internships, professional training and educational support to female students, equipping them to serve as qualified educators in Balochistan’s public education sector.
The initiative aims to strengthen teacher education while expanding educational opportunities for women in underserved areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza said that FJWU remains committed to promoting inclusive and quality education through meaningful collaborations that empower women and contribute to national development. She stated that investing in female education and teacher training is essential for building stronger communities and a progressive society.
Secretary, School Education Department, Balochistan, Lal Jan Jaffar on the occasion appreciated the role of FJWU in advancing women’s higher education and expressed confidence that the partnership would help enhance the capacity of future educators in Balochistan.
According to the details, Dr. Ishrat Siddiqa Lodhi, Chairperson Department of Education and Director ORIC, will serve as the focal person from FJWU, while Rommel Khan, Senior Project Officer PMU BESP GRADES-B, will coordinate on behalf of the School Education Department Balochistan.
Later, Lal Jan Jaffar toured various facilities of the university, including the Department of Education, TV and Radio VOW – FJWU’s women-led media platform and the Business Incubation Centre. He reviewed ongoing projects and highly appreciated the University’s initiatives in women’s education, digital media empowerment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
He remarked that the facilities and academic environment at FJWU offer a valuable model for educational and skill-development institutions in Balochistan and expressed hope for greater future collaboration between the two institutions.
