IPP announces candidates for 14 GB Assembly constituencies

ISLAMABAD, May 11 (APP):The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Monday announced party candidates for 14 constituencies of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly for the upcoming general elections after approval from party President Abdul Aleem Khan.
According to a press release, IPP Central General Secretary Mian Khalid Mahmood and Provincial President Rana Nazir Ahmed Khan formally distributed party tickets among the candidates from Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to the party leadership, strong and active candidates have been fielded from various districts including Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Ghizer, Astore and Hunza. IPP has nominated Maulana Sultan Rais for GBA-1 Gilgit-I, Fatahullah Khan for GBA-2 Gilgit-II, Captain (R) Muhammad Shafi Khan for GBA-3 Gilgit-III, and Iman Shah for GBA-6 Hunza. Similarly, Raja Jalal Hussain Khan has been awarded the party ticket for GBA-7 Skardu-I, while Shams-ul-Haq Lone has been nominated for GBA-14 Astore-II. In the Diamer region, Haji Shah Baig has been nominated for GBA-15 Diamer-I, Advocate Atiq Ullah for GBA-16 Diamer-II, and Haji Gulbar Khan for GBA-18 Diamer-IV. In Ghizer, Atif Salman has been nominated for GBA-19 Ghizer-I, Khan Akbar Khan for GBA-20 Ghizer-II, and Jamila Khatoon for GBA-21 Ghizer-III. In addition, Muhammad Khan Wazir has been nominated from GBA-10 Roundu, while Raza-ul-Haq has been announced as the party’s candidate for GBA-22.

It is noteworthy that an electoral alliance is also being established between Islami Tehreek Pakistan and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party for various constituencies of Gilgit-Baltistan. Under this alliance, both parties will participate in the electoral process with a joint strategy. The candidates who received party tickets expressed their full confidence in the leadership of IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan and reaffirmed commitment to running a vigorous election campaign focused on public welfare, regional development and good governance.
The candidates stated that IPP would play a positive and practical role in addressing the deprivations faced by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and promoting tourism, infrastructure development, education, and employment opportunities in the region.
