MUZAFFARABAD, May 10 (APP):Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has said that the historic success in Mark e Haq proved the Pakistani nation’s unwavering resolve and commitment to safeguard the country’s ideological and territorial sovereignty.
He expressed these views while addressing a grand convention organized by the Kashmiri community at Chakri Road, Dhamial, to mark the first anniversary of the Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
Speaking on the occasion, the AJK premier lauded the Pakistan army for its professionalism, combat preparedness and patriotism. “The exemplary courage, professionalism and defense strategy displayed by the armed forces during the Operation Bunyan um Marsoos is being acknowledged both at national and international level”, the pm remarked.
He also praised the military leadership, particularly Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir, for the successful implementation and execution of the operation Bunyan um Marsoos that forced India to retreat in humiliation. Paying tributes to the martyrs, ghazis and soldiers of the Pakistan army, he said that the armed forces had foiled every conspiracy of the enemy through courage and professionalism.
He said the people of Kashmir regard their bond with Pakistan as part of their faith and have always stood by Pakistan in difficult times. The Prime Minister said India’s repression and human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir could not suppress the freedom spirit of the Kashmiri people.
He urged the international community to play its role to resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute peacefully in accordance with the UNSC resolutions that guarantee right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir. Highlighting the PPP’s role as the country’s progressive political force, he said the party had always struggled for democracy, constitutional supremacy and people’s rights.
He added that the PPP government in Azad Kashmir was pursuing people-friendly policies focused on public service, merit, transparency and development. Referring to the large number of people joining the party, he said the growing public support reflected people’s confidence in the leadership and its policies.
He further stated that the government was taking concrete steps for the welfare and prosperity of the people. The convention was also addressed by former President and Prime Minister Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and government minister Nabila Ayub and others.
Addressing the event, they paid glowing tributes to the Pakistan Armed Forces for the historic success in Mark e Haq. They said that the brave armed forces, through unmatched courage, professionalism and strategic capabilities, foiled the enemy’s designs and upheld the country’s sovereignty and integrity.
They also paid homage to the martyrs and ghazis of Pakistan and said the entire nation takes pride in their sacrifices for the defense of the motherland. The convention was attended by a large number of members of the Kashmiri community residing in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
On the occasion, several political workers and leaders from different parties announced their decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir. They were welcomed by party leaders. The convention was hosted by Central Vice President of PPP Azad Kashmir and party candidate from Baloch constituency, Sardar Inayatullah Arif.
