Canadian Senate hosts special “Pakistan” event amid Asian Heritage Month

OTTAWA, May 8 (APP): The High Commission of Pakistan in Ottawa participated in the “Pakistan” event organized by Senator Salma Attaullahjan in the Senators Chamber, Senate of Canada building here as part of the month-long “Asian Heritage Month” celebrations in Canada.
Around 80 guests including senators, members of House of Commons, other Canadian dignitaries, representatives of diplomatic corps, Pakistani community and local media attended the special event.
Pakistan’s High Commission presented publicity material and video-clip highlighting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, art, tourism, adventure sports and cuisine.

High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem extended gratitude to Senator Salma Attaullahjan for organizing the “Pakistan” event in the premises of the Senate of Canada.
He sought inter-parliamentary exchanges between the bicameral Parliaments of Pakistan and Canada through the existing Parliamentary Friendship Groups.
The high commissioner also highlighted the immense opportunities for increasing Pakistan-Canada economic, trade, investment and tourism ties for mutual benefit.
