The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has imposed a fine of Rs. 119,000 on eight milk shops found selling substandard and water-diluted milk in various areas.

RAWALPINDI, May 06 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has imposed a fine of Rs. 119,000 on eight milk shops found selling substandard and water-diluted milk in various areas.
According to a PFA spokesperson, teams inspected 11 milk outlets in Girja Road, Kashmir Colony and within the Dhamial police station limits, using Lactoscan machines to assess quality.

Warning notices were also issued to two shops over hygiene violations, with instructions to improve standards within a specified period or face stricter action.
During the operation, around 100 liters of substandard milk were destroyed on the spot to prevent it from reaching consumers.

He said no compromise would be made on public health and that action against adulteration would continue.
He added that the raids were conducted following complaints from citizens, highlighting the importance of public cooperation. The authority urged residents to report adulterated products via its helpline 1223 to ensure prompt action.
