CM Bugti praises workers as backbone of development, prosperity

QUETTA, May 01 (APP):Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has paid tribute to workers on International Labour Day on Friday, describing them as the cornerstone of development and prosperity in the society.

Sarfraz Bugti said that Labour Day served as a reminder of the value of hard work, honesty and determination. He emphasized that the provincial government was taking practical steps to protect workers’ rights and welfare, with a strong focus on providing better employment opportunities, safe working environments and essential facilities.

Highlighting a landmark initiative, the chief minister noted that for the first time in Balochistan, children of workers had been enrolled in leading educational institutions across the country. “A worker’s child will not remain a labourer but will have every opportunity to progress,” he declared.

Sarfraz Bugti stressed the need for collective efforts to raise the living standards of workers, adding that Labour Day symbolizes the struggle against exploitation and the commitment to building a just society.

He reaffirmed that the government’s vision was to ensure dignity, protection and hope for every worker and farmer, making them active contributors to the province’s economic and social development.
