Arrangements Reviewed for 158th Urs of Sufi Qadir Bux Bedil; Public Holiday Announced on May 4

SUKKUR, Apr 29 (APP):An important meeting was held at the DC Office conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Nadir Shahzad Khan to review arrangements for the 158th annual Urs of Sufi Faqir Qadir Bux Bedil.
The annual Urs will be observed in Rohri from May 2 to May 4, 2026, corresponding to 1447 AH. The Urs will be inaugurated by District Council Chairman Syed Kumail Hyder Shah and Deputy Commissioner Nadir Shahzad Khan by laying a chadar.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Nadir Shahzad Khan said that all arrangements for the Urs of Bedil Bekas would be made by the Sukkur district administration at the official level. He also announced a public holiday across the district on May 4, 2026, on account of the Urs.
The DC directed police to ensure foolproof security arrangements from May 2 to 4 and to devise a comprehensive traffic plan to facilitate citizens and devotees. He instructed SEPCO to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the Urs days.
He further directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure the availability of two ambulances during the Urs and to set up a medical camp in collaboration with PPHI.
The DC asked the municipal administration to improve arrangements for cleanliness, cold drinking water, and lighting during the Urs, noting that poor lighting last year had caused difficulties for devotees. He stressed special attention on this aspect this year.
He also directed Assistant Commissioner Rohri to establish a control room during the Urs to ensure prompt redressal of any complaints.
Assistant Commissioner Rohri Ghulam Murtaza, DSP Headquarters Abdul Rasheed, and officers from SEPCO, Municipal, and other relevant departments attended the meeting.
