BAHAWALPUR, Apr 29 (APP):Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, visited the AC Bus Stand and Wagon Stand to review cleanliness arrangements and overall facilities, issuing directives for immediate improvement.
Following last night’s rainfall, the commissioner expressed strong displeasure over water accumulation at the sites and instructed concerned authorities to take urgent corrective measures.
He directed officials to expedite ongoing work aimed at improving passenger facilities and to install proper signboards for public guidance without delay.
The commissioner also inspected shaded waiting areas for passengers and reviewed ongoing work on the installation of tuff tiles at the bus stand’s entrance, directing that the site be further beautified.
Taking a comprehensive overview of the situation, he instructed relevant officers to ensure immediate enhancement of facilities.
Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur City was also present during the visit.
Later, the commissioner visited Islamic Colony, where he expressed serious concern over stagnant
rainwater and sewage on roads.
He directed officials from the Municipal Corporation and WASA to ensure immediate drainage and implement long-term solutions to fix the sewerage system. Additionally, Irfan Ali Kathia inspected Farid Gate and reviewed ongoing rehabilitation and beautification work in the inner bazaar areas. He was briefed on the progress of the development project and directed that all schemes be completed within stipulated timelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
