Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organised an informative session to commemorate ‘World Book Day’.

FAISALABAD, Apr 23 (APP):Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organised an informative session to commemorate ‘World Book Day’.
The event was arranged through the joint collaboration of the Learning Resource Center and the Society for Reading and Knowledge.
The ceremony featured Adnan Baig, a renowned poet, artist, and entrepreneur, as the Chief Guest.
During his address, Baig stressed that art and book reading are intrinsically linked. He noted that books play a vital role in the development of human consciousness and the grooming of one’s personality.
Convener Library Dr. Saima highlighted that reading fosters mental growth and critical thinking.
She stated that such activities are essential in attracting students toward the pursuit of knowledge.
Rana Muhammad Abid and Misbah Bashir (Librarian/Organizers) remarked that the habit of reading books is indispensable for character building and personal development.
Misbah Bashir encouraged students to adopt a consistent habit of reading to broaden their horizons.
An awareness walk focusing on the importance of book reading was also organized on the occasion.
A large number of students and faculty members participated, demonstrating their commitment to promoting a reading culture.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to restore the bond between students and literature in the digital age.
The primary objective of the ceremony was to promote a “book-friendly” culture among female students. The session witnessed significant participation from both students and faculty members.
