GUJRAT, Apr 22 (APP):An inspection campaign was carried out across Gujrat district and 110 inspections were conducted during the campaign, according to official sources, here on Wednesday.
As a result, 43 improvement notices were issued over various violations, while fines amounting to Rs106,000 were imposed on 10 food business operators.
The authorities also sealed one food outlet over serious violations, while seven samples were collected and sent to the laboratory for analysis.
During the inspections, 35.15 kilograms of expired, hazardous and prohibited food items were discarded.
The Punjab Food Authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring the provision of safe and quality food to the public, adding that strict legal action would continue against violators.
