MULTAN, Apr 21 (APP):Multan Arts Council organized singing and artistic calligraphy competitions among male and female students based on the poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in connection with his death anniversary, here on Tuesday.
Students from various educational institutions of Multan Division and other districts participated enthusiastically in the competitions and showcased their talents.
In the artistic calligraphy competition based on Iqbal’s verses, Bisma Kashif won first prize of Rs20,000, Mabra Saleem secured second prize of Rs18,000, and Fatima Mubeen claimed third prize of Rs15,000.
In the singing competition based on Iqbal’s poetry, Danish won first prize of Rs20,000, Abdullah Yousaf secured second prize of Rs18,000, and Amna Rasool won third prize of Rs15,000.
Outstanding participants were awarded prizes and certificates, while attendees and teachers appreciated the initiative and termed it a welcome step.
Chief guest Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue, Mohsin Nisar, said in his address that the philosophy of Poet of the East Allama Iqbal carries the message of selfhood, action, and hope, which provides positive direction to the younger generation. He stated that such literary and cultural competitions not only highlight students’ talents but also build their confidence.
Director Multan Arts Council, Saleem Qaiser, said the council is striving to engage youth in positive activities and promote intellectual and literary awareness among students through Iqbal’s poetry. He noted that such competitions help promote fine arts and connect the younger generation with the message of national heroes.
