Iqbal Corner, dedicated library to be set up at LCCI

LAHORE, Apr 21 (APP):Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol Tuesday announced that Iqbal Corner will be established at Lahore Chamber, where a dedicated library of Allama Iqbal’s books will be set up so that members and young people can directly benefit from his thoughts.
He added, the Wall of Iqbal project will be expanded to different areas of Lahore to spread Iqbal’s message among the public.
He was presiding over a seminar titled “Allama Iqbal and his message,” organized by LCCI with Allama Iqbal Council (AIC) Chairman Zulfiqar Cheema as the chief guest. LCCI Vice President Khurram Lodhi, Executive Committee members and a large number of members and prominent personalities were also present.
In his address, Zulfiqar Cheema said that many intellectuals in the Muslim world believe that Pakistanis have practically forgotten Allama Iqbal, even though his message remains as relevant today as it was in his lifetime. He expressed concern that Iqbal’s teachings are not only being ignored at the social level but are also being removed from academia and books.
He said that Allama Iqbal brought the Muslim world out of despair and darkness and gave it hope, courage, and a new intellectual direction. Iqbal strongly challenged Western civilization and presented the case of Muslims in a powerful and effective manner on the global stage. He added that the global influence of Iqbal’s thought can be seen from the fact that more than 7,000 books have been written on him in 45 languages, and he is recognized as the national poet in Iran. Iqbal’s philosophy, he said, has influenced millions of people around the world.
LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that Allama Iqbal is his personal inspiration and has played a major role in his success. He said that Iqbal’s message is not limited to poetry but is a complete way of life that provides guidance in every field. He stressed the need to practically adopt Iqbal’s ideas to build a strong, dignified, and self-reliant nation.
He further said that Iqbal’s message is especially for the youth, as it helps create intellectual awareness, self-confidence, and positive thinking among them. He noted that 64 percent of Pakistan’s population consists of youth, who are the country’s biggest asset, and if they are guided through Iqbal’s teachings, they can change the future of the nation.
Saigol reaffirmed that LCCI will continue efforts to promote Iqbal’s philosophy and will organize more seminars, events, and intellectual activities in this regard to spread his message among the younger generation and the wider community.
