DC Murree reviews tourism projects

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi on Tuesday chaired a follow-up meeting to review implementation of directives issued by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

RAWALPINDI, Apr 21 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi on Tuesday chaired a follow-up meeting to review implementation of directives issued by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Murree and heads of all relevant district departments.

Addressing the participants, the DC directed all departments to ensure prompt and effective implementation of the chief minister’s instructions. He stressed expediting progress on approved tourism projects in Murree and Kotli Sattian, including the Sky Glass Bridge, Glass Train project and hospitality zones.

The meeting also reviewed measures to address landsliding issues in Murree, expansion of roads, removal of encroachments and improvement of sanitation conditions. Officials were directed to complete rehabilitation work in affected areas on a priority basis.

Further directions were issued to ensure practical progress on recreational initiatives such as parks, glamping pods and a paragliding club to facilitate tourists. Emphasis was also laid on accelerating projects related to water supply, rainwater harvesting and other basic amenities.

The deputy commissioner said all departments must work in close coordination under a unified strategy to develop Murree into a modern, safe and high-quality tourist destination.
