Police carry out operations against narcotics , unhygienic food sales

The police  carried out two major operations against narcotics and unhygienic food sales under the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Shahbaz Elahi, the official sources said on Monday.

KOHAT, Apr 20 (APP):The police  carried out two major operations against narcotics and unhygienic food sales under the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Shahbaz Elahi, the official sources said on Monday.
In the first operation, the MRS Police arrested a female drug smuggler during a highway checkpoint search.
SHO Noor Muhammad, along with his team, intercepted a suspicious vehicle and, with the assistance of
lady police, recovered  hashish 4,030 grams  from the suspect.
The contraband was being smuggled from Khyber district to Bannu. The accused was taken into custody, transferred to the Police Station, and a case was registered for further investigation.
The authorities reiterated that strict legal action would continue against the  the illicit drug trade.
In a separate action,a City Police team, led by SHO, Abdul Rauf Bangash in collaboration with the Food Department, launched a crackdown on the sale of substandard meat.
The surprise inspections were conducted at various shops across major city markets, resulting in the seizure of
large quantities of unhygienic meat.
Several shopkeepers were booked for violating health and safety regulations.
The police officials emphasized that such operations would persist to
safeguard public health and ensure strict enforcement of the law.
