SARGODHA, Apr 19 (APP):A student athlete of the University of Sargodha (UoS), Nazia Ahsan, secured second position and clinched a silver medal in the CM Punjab National Marathon and Cycling Race 2026 held in Lahore.
According to university officials, Nazia Ahsan demonstrated her athletic prowess in the 5-kilometer race during the national level competition, where she was also awarded a cash prize of Rs 100,000 for her outstanding performance.
Her achievement has brought laurels to the University of Sargodha and was celebrated as a testament to her dedication and hard work.
Vice Chancellor UoS Professor Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, and Chairman University Teaching Departments Sports Committee Professor Dr. Amir Ali congratulated the athlete on her remarkable feat. Chairperson University Sports Committee Women Dr. Asia Saif Alvi, Director Sports Ahmed Khan Haral, and Assistant Director Sports Shazia Nasir also expressed their joy and felicitated Nazia on her success.
The university administration stated that her’s victory serves as an inspiration for young athletes and reiterated their commitment to encouraging such talent to ensure further successes at national and international levels.
